What’s the best way of keeping in touch with key issues in local government? One way is to watch Podcasts and Webcasts on employment law, workforce strategies, pay issues, and much more. Usefully, podcasts transcripts are also made available.

Once a week, on Mondays BBC Radio 1Xtra lets you download a new 20-min UK music mix in an MP3 format. This friendly site has been a leader in its field since it began in 2002 (1Xtra was first aired at 6pm on August 16 that year. Rampage and KC were the first DJs, and Dangerous by Rodney P & Skitz was the first record played).
In keeping with the times, the site now provides, among plenty of other downloads, the Homegrown podcast of unsigned UK music. Access BBC Radio 1Xtra podcasts, and choose from a number of ways to listen to fresh music – listening online, or after downloading the podcast, or by scheduling automatic downloads every week.
